The Voice of the Night by Dean Koontz

This book was really good. I felt so sorry for Collin and the way his mother didn't believe anything he said and he was the good guy. I wish it had of ended with Collin visiting Roy in the hospital like he'd said he would do but that's okay. Overall it was another pretty good Koontz book. Love his work!

Rogue by Danielle Steel

I listened to this book on CD and it was actually pretty good. Danielle Steel books have always been hard for me to read and get into but I usually like it on CD. Anyhow, it was good. I loved the twist at the end and thought Charles was a butt the whole way through.

The Shunning by Beverly Lewis

This book was excellent. It's not my favorite of Beverly Lewis but I've at least read it twice now. I've predictable which is what I usually can't stand in a book. And throughout the whole book I was hoping Katie would never find out about the satin baby dress although I knew she would. Amish people are very interesting to me and this book shows some of their traditions. Can't wait to read the second in the series again.

Now on to my next book...The Shunning was my 17th book for 2009. Only 33 more to go...

This book was pretty good. It took me a while to really get into it but after I got into it I thought it was really good. The twisted plot was confusing because of how twisted it was but it ended good I thought.

I have a list of Harlan Coben's books and he's one of the many authors that I want to read every book that they wrote. Coben's books are usually dramatic and full of twist. We'll see what he has in store in the next book of his that I want to read which is The Innocent. But before I read that I'm going to read some of the other books on my TBR Author List. haha...Come back for more reviews.

Hockey Game...

On Tuesday, February 17, 2009 Jamie and I went to our first Hockey game. And we had a blast. It was the Charlotte Checkers vs. Florida Everglades. This was right before the game. Both teams were getting a little practice in before the game.

The Long Walk by Stephen King

I finished this book last night...And as always here is my post that I put on Goodreads...
Started this book on 02/07/2009. I finally finished this book last night. I am so happy to be done with it. While I was reading it I kept wondering to myself why was I continuing to read it. It just didn't do anything for me and barely kept my interest, which is why it took 11 days to read. And the ending really wasn't the way I would have liked it to end...Overall if we could give half stars it'd get a 1 and a half...It will be a while before I read another Stephen King novel for this reason. But I'm not giving up on him completely.
I am so glad to bedone with this book, as I've stated before...Stephen King is one of the authors that I have a list of books that he wrote and I wanted to read all of his books. But this one and Salem's Lot were just not good for me. I loved Carrie and thought yes I've found another author to read (because that was the first book I read from him). I'll probably continue to try to read all of his books just not as often as I'll read Dean Koontz or other authors.

School Books...

I have to do a project for school. It's critqueing (that a word?) 10 children's books. Anyhow, when I first started it I thought do I count these 10 books in my 75 books that I want to read this year? And then I thought of course I do because I'm reading them and they are books. Would you count them? Anyhow, hopefully I can load all of the pictures on to this blog. We'll see...

And I can't load the pictures on here to where they will look decent. So here are the titles...Check them out...They are pretty cute children's books...

The Snow Ghosts by Leo Landry
When It Starts to Snow by Phillis Gershator
Brewster the Rooster by Devin Scillian
Stormy Night by Hubert Flattinger
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
The Art Lesson by Tomie dePaola
Snow by Uri Shulevitz
Big Sister, Little Sister by LeUyen Pham
The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister (my personal favorite)

So, would you or would you not count these books toward your book reading goal?

And BTW, I still haven't passed the stone but not in as much pain.

Kidney Stone

So, Thursday I went to work thinking it was going to be a pretty good day. Then I had these sharp pains but I passed them off as cramps. Mind you I thought they were the worst cramps I'd ever have and they were weird. I'd be fine on minute playing with the children and all. But then in the very next minute I was doubled over and on the floor. Then around 12 or 12:30 I started feeling worse. I would either be freezing with the chill pops or burning up. At this point my back was hurting on my right side where my kidney's are. Now, I've had a kidney stone before so I know what that feels like and it felt like that. I thought oh Lord I have another stone. But I started to feel a little better so I went on to lunch. I had lunch with my Grandma, Mom and Daddy for my birthday. But when I got back to work I started feeling bad again. It was probably about 20 minutes after I'd gotten back from lunch that I was just crying like a little baby. I texted mom and asked her to come and get me. And then I told my supervisor that I had to leave that I was so sorry but I had to go to the ER. I spent 3 hours in the ER and yep, I was right I had a kidney stone. They told me to stay at home from work on Friday and I felt bad having to say I can't work but Amanda, my supervisor, was really understanding. It's Saturday morning at 5am (I can't sleep) and I have yet to pass it but I have meds to hopefully help pass it. That and drinking lots of water. I would not wish a kidney stone on anyone.

Another book...

I just finished Mercy by Jodi Picoult. While I loved the book and thought it was really good I only gave it 3 stars because I reminded myself that it was not my favorite Jodi Picoult book. Here's what I wrote as my review on Goodreads.

This book was a book that made you think during the whole book. It wasn't a light read at all. Cam really got on my nerves thinking he could have his cake and eat it too but I love how Allie reacted whenever she did find out about the affair. Jamie and Maggie were the main ones that had you thinking during the whole book. I love Jodi Picoult's books. This was not my favorite but not my least favorite either.

So that's my fifth book for 2009. I'm well on my way to 75 books this year, I think.

No Second Chance...

As I've said before my goal this year is to read 75 books. I just finished my fourth book the other day and here's my review on it.

I usually don't give out 4 or 5 stars to books unless they really have my attention. I was into this book from page 1. This book was my favorite so far by Harlan Coben. I was guessing who did the crime the whole time. At one point I was sure I knew who did it and then the plot was twisted. The epilogue was such a good add on. I can't wait to see what his next book has in store.

Now I'm on to Jodi Picoult's book called Mercy. I have a list of authors that I want to read all of their books. Here in the last year I've gotten kind of OCD about how I read books and all. For example. I want to read the books in the order that the author wrote them in. My list of authors currently includes Harlan Coben, Barbara Delinsky, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Beverly Lewis, James Patterson, Jodi Picoult, Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel and Scott Westerfeld. Some of these authors have over 100 books! Anyhow, guess I'd better get off of here...Thanks for reading

Friday fill-Ins...

I'm on my lunch break and remembered to do this so here it is...

1. I'd really like stay at home right now.
2. Crap is the word you'd most often hear me say if I stubbed my toe.
3. Possession is 9/10 of the law.
4. Arr! Captain Jack Sparrow.
5. Marshmallows and fire go together like peanut butter and jelly.
6. Goes on and on.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to resting, tomorrow my plans include cleaning and reading and Sunday, I want to celebrate my birthday!

Well, I finished the book Extras by Scott Westerfeld. Here's my review that I wrote for it on http://www.goodreads.com/

This was by far my favorite book of the whole series. The other books usually took me about two or three days to really get into them but as soon as I started reading this one I was into it. I loved Aya and Frizz.

Now I've started another book called No Second Chance by Harlan Coben. It's starting out really good so we'll see. I don't know if I posted but my goal for how many books I read this year is 75. I'm hoping I'll make it at least to 50 but I'd love to make it to 75. We'll see I guess. Extra's was the 3rd book.

My friend Erica and I have decided to delete and cancel our whole bloging thing. We both have very busy lives and it's just a little extra busyness that we don't need. So, if you were one of the few who read that then I'm sorry but it's no longer around.

Anyhow there's another blog here that does Friday Fill-Ins (http://fridayfillins.blogspot.com/). I first saw it on my friend Erica's blog. It's basically survey's that are supposed to be done on Friday but oh well, it's Saturday and I'm still going to do it.

1. Oh, I am so thristy!
2. Life changes, big and little.
3. During work, I take care of children.
4. Seriously; are you kidding me???
5. Right now I'd like to be at the beach.
6. My computer (?) is my favorite gadget.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to babysitting, tomorrow my plans include cleaning and Sunday, I want to go to church!

Specials...

Specials by Scott Westerfeld. It was an okay book...Here's the review I wrote on it at http://www.goodreads.com/

This book took me a while to get into but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. The future aspect of this book was kind of weird at times but I loved the ending. I can't wait to start Extras.

I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Since last post...

Life has been pretty good. I went back to work last week and it was a really good week. Then I went to the dentist this Monday and I had an allergic reaction to something that they did or used. The way I can describe it is think about when you get a burn and it just keeps burning, that's the way my bottom lip feels :( But it's getting a little better so hopefully soon it will be completely gone away.

School starts next Monday. I'm only taking one class this semester because all the other classes I needed were at the same time. GRR...But this class is on Monday nights from like 6-8 :(

Me and my friend Erica have started a blog together...Go check it out...http://2009inreview.blogspot.com/

Christmas...

Was great!! Cindy came in on Saturday and we went shopping a few days. Jamie was off work from Monday till today, Friday. I'm off all week and loving it!! We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. Couldn't have asked for a better time. I'll be adding pictures soon but I have to get them on the computer first. haha. Happy New Year everyone!!

This is our new house!! :) I love it...All the leaves are gone now and we'll have a new roof soon!

Our Christmas tree :) The decorations colors are blue, silver, and clear lights. And the desk chair is no longer in the living room! haha

A look at the Christmas tree all lit up at night time from the outside! :) This is what you'll see if you pass my house at night...

This is our fireplace. Our stockings and fire screen. Also the thing on the right hand side is an angel...

So much going on...

WOW life is crazy...Well, we bought our first house and closed on it on November 18th, 2008. We didn't move in till November 28th though. We had to paint some walls and then it was move in ready. We painted one wall in the guest bedroom, all of the walls in the master bedroom, one wall in the living room and all the walls in the kitchen. Since we've moved in we've updated all the fuses to breakers, put a fan in the bathroom, and got a stove. We will be getting gas and a new roof, and hopefully those things will happen before Christmas. You never realize how much you use a stove until you do not have one or have one that you can't use. We've decorated for Christmas :) I'm so excited. I'm finished with school for the semester so no more worries about that. Jamie's mom is coming in sometime this weekend. I'm excited for her to see our house... Check back in a little bit and I'm going to load some pictures! :)

I'm excited about so much but sad about one thing. On Sunday, December 14, 2008 my mawmaw passed away. And although I know she's in Heaven having a wonderful time, I miss her greatly. Thanks to everyone who has prayed for her and our family.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. -1 John 4:16

So much is going on...

Since I last posted....We are closing on the house on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 and I can't wait. Once we close we are hoping to move in the day after Thanksgiving that way we have time to get ready for Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, mom and dad bought us a Christmas tree as part of our Christmas gift. I'm so excited. And now Jamie's mom and brother are coming in for Christmas. It's going to be fun!

Our anniversary was November 9th and it was great. I woke up thinking that I was going to have to spend the whole day by myself because Jamie would have to work. BUT he surprised me and while we were getting ready for church he informed me that he was not going to be going to work. AND that we were going to the Renissance Festival and to eat at the Melting Pot for our anniversary. It was a really good day. We had fun at the festival and enjoyed it and then the Melting Pot was the best!

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. -Psalm 119:105

Well...

my week was okay. On Monday I had a root canal. It was my first and hopefully my last. Then that same day we went and signed papers on the house again to put in another offer. Went and got new cell phones. I dropped one of my classes for the semester. AND I went to my regular doctor.

Tuesday was okay. I was back at work but left a 4 to go to the eye doctor.

Wednesday I woke up and had a red spot on my face. It looked like a bump was coming so I gave it little thought and went on with life.

Thursday my cheeks and nose were bright red and I realized I was having an allergic reaction to something. So I stopped taking the Sulfa (which is what I finally figured I was allergic to). I started taking two Benadryl every four hours to help the reaction and to keep the itching down. I also started putting an ice pack on me when I stated itching.

Friday I thought I was going to scratch myself to death. I itched all over and I started getting little bumps on my hands too. I didn't think I would make it through the whole day at work but I did good. Mind you I was still taking the Benadryl and doing the ice pack. But once I got home I slept because that was one way to keep from scratching.

Saturday I got up and it had spread to my arms. My mouth was hurting from the root canal cause the tooth needs to be smoothed down and it was cutting my cheek and tongue. So, it hurt to talk but I invited my momma over :) I hadn't seen her all week so it was a good visit even if I didn't want to talk much. After she left I took a nap and then continued the benadryl and ice pack thing.

This morning I was feeling a little better but not completely. My arms are not itching anymore. My hands still are and there are still a few little bumps but for the most part it is gone. My mouth still hurts but I'm going to have that tooth smoothed tomorrow so after tomorrow morning it won't bother me hopefully.

About the house. We put in a new offer and the seller accepted. It went through appraisal on Thursday and if it is appraised at the right amount then we have a house :)

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. -Isaiah 53:6

In the past week...

Not much has happened. We liked one house but there were renters living in it. SO, the owner asked the renters to move out because she needed to sale it. The renters came back and said they wouldn't move out so that house was completely out of the picture. BUT the same day that we found out that that house was out of the picture we found out the house that we had looked at before and put the offers in (it needed a few things fixed before we could move in). Well, the owner/seller of it is having the plumbing fixed. SO, this morning we went and looked at it again. Jamie and I really want this house. And we put in an offer. It was the same amount as when we walked away from the house and he had accepted it so we'll see.

Last night Jamie and I went to The Dark Night at Fairview. It's a play that the youth and other church members put on. It was so good. I'm glad we got to go last night after Jamie got off.

AND I've created a new blog. It's going to be where I keep track of my books. I'll also be posting verses from the Bible that have caught my attention or lyrics from a song that catches my attention. I will still be posting my verse on here though. So, check it out... http://kasilousbooks.blogspot.com/

** Sad news ** Mom and Dad's dog, Fudge Butter, passed away this morning. He was a good dog so he'll be missed. :(

No go...

Well, after all of that with the house we asked the seller to fix the plumbing, which basically needed to be replaced. And the broken windows. I think that's reasonable but the seller didn't. He came back and said he would not fix anything so we walked away from it. It was so hard and we still would like to have that house but we will not take it unless he fixes those things. So then Thursday our realtor took me by a house and I like it alot. It was 3 bedrooms, 1 and a half bath and so pretty. Jamie went with daddy and the realtor to look at it on Friday and we decided to put a bid in on it. I think we are the only people who can find not one but two people in a row that don't really want to sale. The lady counter offered and we accepted it, we thought it was a good deal. Then she backed out of it.

So, this morning we went and looked at about five or six houses and liked none of them. They were all just okay. Nothing to great. So we are going to keep looking. It's really discouraging but we are trying to keep our heads up. We both trust that when God wants us to find a house that we will. So now it's just waiting till He shows us one. Easier said then done. If we could only afford a little bit more then our choices would be so much better.

Anyhow, just wanted to keep everyone posted on the house hunt. Thanks for reading and please continue to pray for us!

The house and life...

Well, after going through many offers we finally accepted his counter offer of $87k and him paying closing cost. Jamie and I are excited but now we are worried about the inspection. So, pray for us that the inspection is good and we are ready to buy it. haha.

Through out this process of buying a house and all I've been very upset. Mainly I've just been worried and stressed. When I get like that I just cry. And I realized I hadn't been putting my focus on God. So I turned to Him during this time of stress and worry. I honestly think he showed me a certain song just to remind me that he will carry me through all this and the wonder of it all is He sees me through. That song was Crawl (Carry Me Through) by Superchic(K). Here are the lyrics if you want to read them, they have reminded me how awesome God is.

How long will this take? How much can I go through? My heart, my soul aches I don't know what to do I bend, but don't break Somehow I'll get through Cause I have You And if I had to crawl Well You'd crawl too I stumble and I fall Carry me through The wonder of it all Is You see me through O Lord, where are you? Do not forget me here I cry in silence Can you not see my tears When all have left me And hope has disappeared You'll find me here.

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised. -Genesis 28:15

Everything...

Well, be prepared because this is going to be a LONG post. There is so much going on.

First there my health. I've been coughing for the past four weeks and it's driving me crazy. At first it was just a cough. But now it's like congestion. I was going to go to Urgent Care after work today but it would cost $50 to go and then whatever meds they prescribed. So I decided instead to go to CVS and get something tomorrow when we may go look at this house again (more about that later). So we'll see if I can get something to help me feel better.

Then there's work. We've been short handed all week. So everyone has been stressed. On top of being sick I've been in a room by myself some. BUT it's okay because it's Friday and we made it through the week. On Monday we have two new people starting so next week should be a better week.

Next is school. I'm two weeks behind in one of my classes but there is no really late work so it's okay. But then the other class just really stresses me out because of these portfolio's that we have to do. I'm going to get the stuff done in the class I'm behind tomorrow. That's what my afternoon is going to consist of is doing homework. I will not put it off any longer.

Now about the house. Well, Monday we went and looked at a rental with a real estate agent. So we decided to start looking at houses to buy. We looked at about three houses on Monday, went back to two on Tuesday that we had seen on Monday and then looked at like three more. On Monday the second house that we saw we loved. So Wednesday evening, Jamie took my mom, his dad, and his step-mom to see it. They all loved it. The house was for sale for $89,400. We decided to put in an offer of $78,000 (seller pay closing and a warranty) today. It was counter-offered with $85,000 with a no to the closing cost and a warranty. So we went back with $84,000 with closing and there was no counter offer just a no. SO our last offer is $83,000 and we'll pay the closing cost. I hope and pray that the seller accepts that offer but I have to put my trust in God. I've given it to Him and I'm not going to worry about it anymore. We are going tomorrow morning to take my daddy over there since he couldn't go Wednesday evening. Hopefully our agent will know something about the seller either accepting the new offer or refusing it. We shall see.

Some good news is so far in the weight loss effort I've lost 6 pounds. :)

Okay that was long enough so I'm going to get off of here now. I am posting this next verse just to remind myself that God is my very great reward!

"Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." -Genesis 15:1

A new me...

On Tuesday night The Biggest Loser Season 6 started. It's motivating to see those people work so hard to lose. And so I thought to myself why can't you lose?! So that evening I joined the Biggest Loser Club and I'm trying to lose weight. When I put my info into the computer it came up that I was obese. I can't believe it. It's not like I tried to get this way. It kind of almost seems like one morning I woke up and I was this way. Now I know that's not true but it feels like that. Anyhow, my goal is to get down to 135lbs. I think this might be hard for me only because I'm sort of picky with food. I don't like beans and that's what they have for you to eat on the list of what foods to eat. But right now I really can't afford to go out and buy all that food that they want me to eat so I'm just trying to stay in the calorie rang that they have gave me. BUT we shall see though. Thanks for any support I get...

Pictures and stuff...

The HUGE box of fireworks that I won...It was $200 worth of fireworks.

This is some of the fireworks from the box. Jamie and I went over to his dad's and set off the whole box of fireworks. It was so much fun.

Jamie and I...I love this man!

Our last picture of Jade. We miss her but know she's better off in another home.

I tired to post those pictures a few weeks ago and couldn't get the website to load my pictures so I decided to try again today. Anyhow, not much is going on. Sadly my aunt Susie passed away yesterday morning. I was in Gatlinburg, TN with some co-workers and found out Saturday that she wasn't doing to good. I wanted to come home but had not source of transportation without making my co-workers come home. But then we came home yesterday but she was already gone. I know she's in a better place but losing someone you love is always hard. :( So please be praying for my family and I as we go through this time of loss. And thanks as always for reading!

May my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be put to shame.

Sad news...

This is going to be short...But we got rid of Jade :( She was being to mean to our other cat, Chubby, and that was stressing both Jamie and I out so we had to get rid of her :( I put her on Free Cycle on Sunday morning before church and that night we delivered her to a nice lady named Sue. Sue told us later that evening that she was already making herself at home. I know she's happier now. And I know Chubby is happier now too! hehe. When we had Jade he was very unhappy and you could tell by the places that he was sleeping and just his overall actions. Plus Jade must have smacked him one day and caught her claw on the gum of his mouth and that looked like it hurt. Anyhow, everything is back to normal.

Our July 4th

Just thought I'd post some pictures from our 4th of July weekend. More to come at the end of the month. Call it my OCD or whatever but I've decided to start waiting till the end of the month to load my pictures onto the computer. I'm hoping this gets me to keep taking pictures. Jamie and I have been together for a little over 5 years and the first year I took pictures non-stop. And then it just stopped! So I decided to start taking pictures again and loading them onto the computer at the end of the month is my way of being organized! haha ANYHOW, got off on a ramble there. These are pictures that Cindy took and I stole them from her to put on here and on myspace! :) Enjoy

Cindy came up on July 3rd and then came over for a little bit. My mom, sister, cousin and daddy were here and they stayed for the fireworks. Then Jamie and I won a big box of fireworks. I have a picture of it for the end of the month :). Anyhow, this box of fireworks had a $200 value and we ended up only spending like $20 on the few that we bought the day we registered for this prize. Back to the weekend. After all of my family left and Jamie got off we went and picked up our prize! :)

Friday, July 4th, Jamie, his mom and I went to eat lunch at IHOP and then went to Charlotte. In one day in Charlotte we went to Trader Joe's, Sam's and The Fresh Market. Jamie and I ended up getting a Sam's Club membership (that make me feel all grown up). I also got an orchid from the Fresh Market. We had an over all fun but busy day. That night his mom was tired so we went to his daddy's house and shot off all $200 worth of our fireworks. It was really fun to just hang out with his dad, step-mom and step-sister. I love hanging out with them. After we shot off fireworks they had a huge watermelon that we cut up and ate. It was really good.

Saturday, July 5th - the 3 of us went to Amalfi's to eat lunch. It was really good. Then Jamie went to work, his mom back to her hotel and I came home. There was a 4th of July cook-out at church and I went there for a little bit but eventually I came home and hung out around the apartment.

Sunday, July 6th - Jamie and I went to church and then we met up with his mom and had lunch at East Coast Wings. It wasn't that great. Then we went to see Hancock at the movies. It was pretty good but I thought I Am Legend was much better. After that we parted ways for a little bit and Jamie and I went to church while his mom rested at the hotel. We met back up after church and went to Outback. I had to leave cause I had a test I had to do for school that night. But the food that Jamie bought home was really good.

Monday, July 7th - I had to work but that night Cindy and I went to Cozumel's. It was really good. I thought we had a fun and very busy visit with her.

Anyhow, here are some pictures...Hope you enjoy...

I like this picture of Jamie and I. Cindy took it at East Coast Wings.

Pictures of Jade...

She was sleeping at my feet while I was on the computer.

Then she started playing around. How cute!

Jade and Chubby. They are starting to get along...

My cutie Jade.

We got...

a new kitty!! Her name is Jade. Thursday, Friday & Saturday we went to Jamie's daddy to stay while they went out of town. Friday morning we woke up to hear a cat meowing and crying. I went out side and it was a kitten. It came to us and I loved on it then. Friday night it was still there. Then Saturday when Toni and Norman got home Jamie and I decided to bring it home with us. Jamie took her to the vet yesterday and they said she is healthy and good to go. Her and Chubby are learning to get along. Jade has claws and Chubby doesn't which isn't far but when Jade is 6 months (November) we are getting her declawed. It won't let me load pictures again so I'm gonna try later...Come back and see what Jade looks like :)

Pictures of our weekend! :)

As I promised yesterday...Here are some pictures. If you want to see more you'll have to tell me! :) Enjoy

This is me riding to go eat at Zebra. I actually like this picture! :)

Both of us right after we got to Zebra and before we got out of the car.

What a weekend!!

It was so great to get away and enjoy some quality time together. This past weekend we went to Charlotte, NC (yes, about an hour from home) to spend the weekend. We ate good food and just had fun overall. This was my birthday present to Jamie (His birthday was June 12th). First we left Saturday morning around 10am. I honestly thought we would over-sleep or something but we didn't. First we went to Mooresville to return a shirt to Khol's that I got him and a pan to Bed, Bath & Beyond that was messed up. Then we went to Davidson to eat at Toast Cafe. It was so cute. It was a little crowded in the resturant but the food was good. This is one of the places that Jamie wanted to go to. Then we had time to kill so we went to Huntersville and stopped at Barnes and Noble. Crazy people that we are look at the books that we were reading and the page #'s and then went in Barnes and Noble and got the books went to the comfy chairs and read. It was very relaxing. After that we went on to Charlotte to our hotel. We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel and it was great! First we got a room that the AC was leaking water so they moved us to another room. Then that night we went and ate at Zebra. We got all dressed up (yes I wore a dress). The food was good. I had steak and Jamie had fish. Then Sunday we got up and had breakfast at the Hotel which was pretty good. We ate lunch at City Tavern which was okay. We walked around Charlotte from about 12 to 4 and it was really hot. We also rode the light rail which was pretty cool when you were going forward, not so much when you went backward. That night we at The Capital Grill. It was wonderful. First I told them we were celebrating Jamie's birthday so they had confetti on the table, we looked around and it was just on ours. I thought that was cute. We both had steaks and they were really good. Then this morning we slept in and left the hotel at 11. We went to a Fresh Market in Charlotte that was awesome! I wish we had one of those here. We stopped in Mooresville and ate at the Prickly Pear which is a Mexican Restaurant. It was good food again. We got home around 2:30 and left again at 5pm. We went to Jamie's aunt and uncle's to cook for them. We had steaks again and they were really good. Overall this weekend was just full of good food!

It won't let me upload pictures right now for some reason. I will later hopefully!

Another month has...

gone by. Time flies when you're having fun! haha...Well, it's now June 13, 2008. Yesterday was Jamie's 23rd birthday. Life is great other then gas prices raising! But that's a problem for everyone and there is not much we can do about it. Jamie recently got a second job so that is helping out some. And then I'm hoping to try to get a job at Food Lion since there is one going to open right down the road. But we shall see. Not much else is going on though...We are still loving the married life. We've talked about buying a house but we aren't sure. We both think we can look but we need to focus on paying some of our bills off (my medical and his student loans). I know that God has a time and a place for everything. I just need to trust in him!

VBS is next week. So it's going to be a busy week next week. And then Jamie and I are going out of town next weekend and I'm very excited about that. We are going to be celebrating his birthday. He has no idea what I've got planned! So I guess I'll be posting some more pictures in a few weeks! :)

A few pictures...

Just wanted to get on here and share a few pictures...

Back in March Jamie and I decided to go out of town for the weekend. It was planned like a week in advance. But basically we decided to just get in our car and drive until we wanted to stop. We ended up stopping in Black Mountain. We had so much fun!

This is Black Mountain, a beautiful little town.

This is Jamie and I at Madison Inn. Great food!

Then I just took a few pictures of Jamie and I...Can you believe we've already been married six months?? Time flies when you're having fun!!

Almost there...

So basically I've been in college since 2001 with the exception of taking 1 year off a few years ago. Anyhow, that's a long time.

A while back I realized on my transcript that I was going to college for an Educational Diploma, which is not what I signed up for. I started going for my Associate Degree in Early Childhood in 2003-2004 school year. The woman who was my advisor then, thank goodness she isn't anymore, put me in for the wrong thing. I was ticked. So I talked to my Monday night teacher and found out that she is my new advisor. She is awesome. She got my file from my old advisor and we looked at it. She said that I was right I had signed up for the Associate Degree. So, anyhow, I looked at it and I have 5 classes left to take. Now if Mitchell offers classes when I can take them, after work, then I'll graduate in May 2009 :) I'm so excited.

Thanks for reading my rambling! :)

Here...

Here I am again...Nothing much has been going on.

Work has been good. State will be coming on April 24th so pray we do well. I'm trying not to stress out about it but that's easier said then done.

Life is going good. Jamie and I are happily married. :) Over the past weekend we went to his daddy's church. Little did we know that his daddy was going to get an award so we showed up at the right time. After church we went to his daddy's house and then we went to Winston for me and Kate/Amelia to try on bridesmaid's dresses for Randi and Jason's wedding. They are pretty cute. It's out of my comfort zone but Jamie liked it and my mom said she thought it'd look good on me from the pictures so I'm all for it. Then we cooked supper at our house and hung out. It was a wonderful time.

My teeth on my left side started hurting on Monday night and I thought maybe it was my sinus' just bothering me but on Tuesday they were hurting really really bad so I got some gel stuff to put on them. Well, I must be allergic to that stuff cause my whole mouth has broken out :( And it hurts!!!

Anyhow, now that I've rambled I'm gonna get off of here...

Over a month...

Since I last posted...I've been so busy with work and school and church and of course being a wife! hehe

Since I last wrote Jason and Randi set their wedding date at September 13th. Not to long away.

We've joined a gym, Peak Fitness is coming to town in May so we went ahead and joined and got a discount of some kind. It's gonna be cool. Right now we can go to any of the other Peak gym's but I'm just waiting till May. Jamie is still doing WW and he's lost like a little more then 25 lbs. I'm so proud of him.

Also, last weekend Jamie and I went to Black Mountain. We actually left last Friday evening after Jamie got off and just started driving. We ended up in Black Mountain and that's where my profile picture was taken from. It was so pretty. We ate at Madison Inn for dinner on Saturday night and it was really good. Hopefully next time we plan a little weekend getaway toward that area we can stay at the Inn AND eat there too. But this time we stayed at Super 8. Then on Sunday for brunch we ate at The Cellar Door. It was really good too. I loved getting away like that.

Well, I know I say it every time but I'm gonna try to write in here more. Does anyone read it though???

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. -Proverbs 16:9

Busy...

Life has been pretty busy here lately. This past weekend Jamie and I went down to Wilmington for Saturday and Sunday. Jason asked Randi to marry him Saturday and we went down there for that. It was fun! I'm adding pictures to the computer right now and gonna put them on myspace sometime. So now I'm gonna be in a wedding in October.

Jamie and I have been married a little over 3 months. It's unreal almost. But I'm still loving married life.

Well, I was gonna write more but now I can't remember it :( Thanks for reading!

Spark People

Jamie and I are trying to live a healthy lifestyle and eat right. Both of us have diabetes in our families so pretty much if we don't straighten up now we'll have it. :( And I don't do shots! Anyhow, while Jamie is doing Weight Watchers with his mom I've joined Spark People. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=KASILOU06
That's my Spark Page. It's a wonderful, free website that helps you to track your food and exercise. I joined before but it was right before I got married and basically I just quit. But not this time. I've been doing really good and keeping it between my calories. Anyhow, I'm hoping to lose some weight and look great for my wonderful husband!

New Hair!!

As I posted yesterday I was off because of snow. Jamie and I went grocery shopping and I think we did rather well. We bought a lot of healthy foods, pray that we can start living healthier lives and of course living them for the Lord! Anyhow, after we went grocery shopping and put all the groceries up (and Jamie rearranged the food in the cabinets - but it looks good) we went and took some stuff to Goodwill. We had two boxes of kitchen and chef stuff and then a laundry basket full of clothes. It felt good to donate all that stuff. THEN we went to Sport Clips to get our hair cut (yes I said OUR). Jamie needed one cause his was just getting to long and I just was ready to get rid of the length on mine. After the wedding I was going to try to let it grow out to donate it to Locks of Love. I couldn't handle how long it was getting though. YUCK, long hair is just not for me. So, now my hair is right at my chin right where I like it. You can http://www.myspace.com/kasilou to see the picture of it. I love it! But that's not the best picture. Well, just thought I'd share my hair news with ya'll! :) Hopefully we'll get more snow tomorrow and then I'm off Monday for Martin Luther King Day. Hope ya'll have a safe and fun weekend!

Off today!

Yes we're off today. I mean I was off cause it snowed and school's were out. But Jamie was scheduled off work. We got up and went grocery shopping and I think we'll watch a movie here in a little bit. I'm just so happy it snowed. I love snow, it's so pretty. Just thought I'd write and say it snowed!!! :)

Cleaning...

I've been cleaning house tonight since I've been home. Jamie and I bought that desk and bookcase Sunday night and put it together so I've been putting stuff in their places. I'm tired now. I think Saturday I'm going to clean really good though, I mean like the vacuuming and everything.

I started school last night. I have Creative Activities on Monday night and Child Guidance on Tuesday night. I think both classes will be okay. I'm just praising the Lord I don't have to write any papers this semester. I have a few big projects but no 8 page papers! WOOHOO!!

Well, just thought I'd write a little something in here! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Wondeful!!

I haven't wrote in a while. But we are all moved into the apartment. I love it! We've been in here about a week and a few days and it's awesome. I love having heat again. hehe. We've gotten settled in pretty good just have a few more boxes to unpack.

Anyhow, yesterday after work I went over to Mom and Dad's. And then Jessi, Jamie, Daddy and I left for Hickory. Well, when we were getting into the car I heard on 106.9 that if you heard the song Mandisa, God Speaking to be the 10th caller to win. Well, I didn't know what I was winning but I was hoping that it would be Winter Jam tickets. Winter Jam is a Christian Concert that Jamie and I had planned on going to but it was $10 at the door. Here's that website... http://www.jamtour.com/index.php

Anyhow, I was the 10th caller and I won!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so happy. I can't wait to go to the concert. God must really want Jamie and I to be there. :) Anyhow, just figured I'd share my wonderful news!! :)

Oh yes, last night when we went shopping I got...A new Bible, 3 pair of jeans, and some socks. :)
