Six Word Saturday

Going to pickle some cucumbers today!

So my boss bought a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH) of cucumbers to work on Thursday and Friday. So I grabbed up a few, okay really two grocery bag fulls, and I'm going to try my hand at pickling. This is the recipe I'm going to use called Spicy Refrigerator Dill Pickles. I'm not a big pickle person usually and I really DON'T like cucumbers but I'm already wanting to taste these pickles. I'll try to post how they come out in a few days.

Love all things baby at the moment (a new grandchild will do that to you)- so glad to here everything is going well with your little one.

I'm going to steal your pickled cucumber recipe - all of my males eat these in 'huge' quantities, so I like trying new recipes. Cheers for sharing

Have a great week

Happy pickling cucumbers! The only pickles I take are the ones in my McDonald's burger! :D

I have wanted to do this too. We *love* pickles in our house and cucumbers in general. Be sure to post the outcome and maybe that will inspire me. Have a great weekend!

That recipe looks like it provides some scrumptious results, I await your verdict on them eagerly! I've never pickled, or indeed preserved anything in any way before, but I do love myself a nice pickle and I found some lovely preserving jars the other day whilst shopping for things for my shiny newly cleaned kitchen ;) lol. I may have to give these a go should they turn out well!

I hope they turn out great, I wouldn't be wild about cucumbers either but this recipes sounds interesting.

And mom2kiddos, I'm glad I found one other person in the world who actually likes the pickles in a McDonalds burger.

Have been wanting to learn to jar myself, just have not put one foot in front of the other yet. Bought some used books on the subject. Hope to have a root cellar at our next home ... someday.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today, and sure hope that you enjoy the pickles. If not, you will have plenty of gifts!

Hi Kasi -- Your pickles look really good. We call them bread and butter pickles but I don't know why.
..
Sorry I'm late for answering the Saturday Six. I wasn't making pickles either, just very 'busy.'

This is one of those times when I'm glad I was late with my visit because I could see the photos of the pickling. It's odd - I adore pickles but I detest cucumbers.

Thanks for playing 6WS!
